The CAC included USAENE in accordance with Resolution CREG 207 of 2020, which defines the audit scheme for the reported information on fuel supply and transportation costs declared by generating agents, as well as the delegation to the Commercialization Advisory Committee -CAC- to form the list of expert auditors in the fuel markets and in the Colombian electricity market.
USAENE has specialized thermal plant design software that has been used in Colombia for more than 15 years: STEAM PRO® and GTPRO® and PEACE® cost analysis software from Thermoflow Inc., which allows quick sizing of the main parameters and characteristics of a thermal unit (efficiency, heat rate, consumption, etc.).
USAENE conducts studies based on a solid understanding of the existing operating conditions of each company. Our in-depth knowledge of the industry and future scenarios allows us to identify potential conflicts that could affect companies and projects. Therefore, our team takes action in the early stages of a project to prevent future problems. USAENE has the technical, regulatory, environmental and financial capacity to accompany public or private investors in the different stages of projects in the energy sector.
USAENE has developed more than 2,500 MW of installed capacity in pre-feasibility and feasibility stages.
Connection studies: USAENE has conducted connection studies for 900 MW, including renewable energy projects. The process of submitting the connection study to the grid operator must follow a specific technical procedure, determined by market regulation, failure to comply with this process will result in delays for the project. USAENE has extensive experience in developing and submitting connection studies following the requirements that will result in timely approvals.
USAENE has also designed terms of reference for the contracting of EPCs and technical support in energy procurement processes.
